“Connecting families

First, who is RCONNECTION? We are a networking group of local agencies who meet monthly to identify and address issues within our community which hinder families from becoming or remaining self-sufficient.

Sometimes things fall apart, whether in employment, reliable transportation, health, or services for quality and affordable child care. When a person is self-sufficient, they have the ability to weather the crisis more effectively. Too many times, an individual is really only one paycheck away from disaster. When disaster strikes, you want to know that there are people around you, interested in helping you get “back on your own two feet”.

RCONNECTION is interested in the “Continuum of Care”. We are constantly looking at the “big picture” and trying to identify the missing pieces. We address the questions of how the community can be improved by our action and where the next solution will be found?

One of our initiatives has been the online Directory of Service Providers currently residing at the Home page of Murfreesboro Housing Authority. This collaborative effort seeks to provide a comprehensive “safety net” of easily searched, easily found resources that are located within Rutherford County.

Additionally, RCONNECTION seeks to raise community awareness by hosting events such as the Community Resource Fair, timely Job Fairs, and conducting awareness campaigns through various media outlets.
